Getting to know Italy

Getting to know Italy means also getting to know the regulations regarding heating system. Italian law says that beacuse of polution and fuel cost it's forbidden to use heating system in public buildings more than 12 hours per 24 and that the heating system can be used only in the period from mid October till mid April. If it's cold before or after that period it seems that the government doesn't care. In the last days in Piemonte region there were max. 11-14 degrees during the day and it was raining all the time (literally). The cathegory of public builidings include also schools and kindergartens. Unfortunately it includes also the builiding in which our apartment is situated. As the climate is warm in general the floor is made of stone and the window has one window pane and is not airtight. So it's cold. I'm coming from the coldest region of Poland and -20, -30 degrees outside doesn't surprise me. But blistering cold inside does. Getting to know other countries means also getting surprised with these kind of stuff...
